Clinical Assistant Professor Bri Ewing

Meet Bri, Fermentation Specialist

Bri Ewing, a Clinical Assistant Professor in the School of Food Science, doubles as WSU’s fermentation specialist at the WSU Mount Vernon NWREC. She is hard at work increasing access to resources and research for cidermakers and fermentation specialists worldwide. See our Workshops and Events page to catch her in action teaching a workshop. 

Qualifications: 

M.S. (2016) in Food Science and Technology at Virginia Tech where her master’s research focused on how varying apple maturities and post-harvest storage conditions affected the quality and chemistry of hard cider.

B.S. (2013) in Molecular Environmental Biology from the University of California Berkeley

Summer REEU Intern

Meet Sarah, REEU Summer Intern

Sarah Harkins, a Food Science Fermentation student at Washington State University, will be working closely with mentor, Bri to help with various projects and research over the summer. She graduated from Walla Walla Community College with an AA in 2017 and hopes to continue studying the uses of microbes in food.

Our workshops are conducted at the WSU Mount Vernon NWREC, as well as hosting Bri’s main office. The NWEC is located at 16650 WA-536, Mt Vernon, WA 98273
